An open house will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. at the Lodge at Fall Creek Falls to share information about a project at the park’s scenic loop. Thousands of trees were downed by storms last year creating hazards within the park and the gorge.
Work to remove the fallen trees will begin this summer and continue into the fall. The work may mean temporary road closures. Once the trees are removed, the park will use several land management techniques to restore the area.
All citizens are invited to attend the open house, and anyone can visit tnstateparks.com for any posted alerts.
